This Privacy Policy explains how Betternote handles information when you use the Betternote mobile application.
Betternote is designed as a private note-taking app. We do not collect, store, sell, track, or share your personal notes, notebooks, drawings, imported files, photos, or iCloud data.
Interpretation and Definitions
Interpretation
The words whose initial letters are capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.
Definitions
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:

Account means a unique account created for You to access our Service or parts of our Service.

Affiliate means an entity that controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with a party, where "control" means ownership of 50% or more of the shares, equity interest or other securities entitled to vote for election of directors or other managing authority.

Application refers to Betternote, the software program provided by the Company.

Company (referred to as either "the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our" in this Agreement) refers to Betternote.

Country refers to: British Columbia, Canada

Device means any device that can access the Service such as a computer, a cell phone or a digital tablet.

Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.

Service refers to the Application.

Service Provider means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Company. It refers to third-party companies or individuals employed by the Company to facilitate the Service, to provide the Service on behalf of the Company, to perform services related to the Service or to assist the Company in analyzing how the Service is used.

Usage Data refers to data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).

You means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company, or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable.
Information We Do Not Collect
Betternote does not collect or track:
- Your notes or notebook content
- Your drawings, handwriting, text boxes, or annotations
- Photos or images imported from your camera roll
- Documents imported from the Files app
- PDFs, images, or other files added to your notebooks
- Your iCloud documents or iCloud backup content
- Analytics, usage tracking, advertising identifiers, or location data
Camera Roll Access
Betternote may request access to your camera roll so you can import images, upload custom notebook covers, or add custom paper backgrounds.
Photos you select are used only inside the app for the features you choose. Betternote does not upload, store, track, or share your camera roll content.
Files App Access
Betternote may request access to the Files app so you can import documents, PDFs, images, or other supported files into your notebooks.
Files you select are used only for creating or editing your notebooks. Betternote does not upload, store, track, or share your imported files.
iCloud Access
Betternote may use Apple iCloud features to help back up or sync your app data between your own Apple devices, if you choose to use those features.
Your iCloud data is managed through Apple’s iCloud system and your Apple ID. Betternote does not access, read, collect, track, sell, or share the contents of your iCloud data.
Local App Data
Your notebooks, drawings, imported files, images, and app settings are stored locally on your device and/or in your personal iCloud storage when iCloud backup or sync is enabled.
Deleting the app or deleting notebook data may remove locally stored content, depending on your device and iCloud settings.
Purchases and Payments
Betternote may offer optional in-app purchases or subscriptions. All purchases are processed through Apple’s in-app purchase system.
We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Payment information is handled by Apple and is subject to Apple’s own terms and privacy policy.
Contacting Us
If you contact us for support, feedback, or questions, we may receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address and the contents of your message.
We use this information only to respond to your request. We do not sell or share support communications.
Children’s Privacy
Betternote does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
Betternote is a safe to use application, for any age.
Security
Betternote is designed to keep your notes and files private on your device and, when enabled, in your personal iCloud storage.
No method of electronic storage is completely secure, so we recommend keeping your device, Apple ID, and iCloud account protected with strong security settings.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
